The following contains all you need to know to get you started and continue to enjoy all that Breakaway Republix has to offer. The page contains links to help guide you through the site.

Anyone can register for free on Breakaway Republix. Complete the registration page by clicking the link below. Make sure you follow the tips for a quick and easy registration.

Becoming a Citizen

Upon registration, you automatically become a citizen in the virtual earth, with your very own profile and a range of interactive features.

Registration is quick and easy and your account is activated straight away, meaning you can become a citizen instantly and start to enjoy loads of interactive features minutes from now! Just click on the register link to get started.

Becoming a Country Owner

To become a country owner, you first of all need to register on the site as a citizen, which is fast, free and simple.

Upon becoming a member of the Breakaway Republix world, you have automatic rights to purchase towns and cities which you can turn into your very own countries!
Its lots of fun and easy to use. The world is your oyster!

Payments

PayPal is a quick and secure method of paying for your Republix purchase. You can use your existing PayPal account if you already have one, or alternatively register a new account in minutes.

Republix PayPro is our integrated payment processing tool, which allows you to deposit funds in your account and draw from these any time you wish to make a purchase on the site. You can top up your account at any time, and up to a maximum of $500.00.

Republix PayPro can be used to purchase new countries or you can use it to trade with other country owners to purchase countries that are already occupied.

Search Facilities

Citizen Search

This Feature allows you to search for all the citizens that have registered with Breakaway Republix.

It’s really easy to use, click on the link on the homepage to "View all Citizens" and type the first two letters of the citizen you are looking for (as a minimum) in the citizen name box of the page that has opened.

The more letters you type the more narrow your selection becomes.

Country search

This feature allows you to search for millions of towns from across the world for you to turn into your own country or simply view countries that have already been created.

It’s easy to use and all you need to do is type in the town, village or city and let the predictive search do the rest. As you type you will see the place appear in the box below.

As you can imagine there are millions of places in the world, so you may find many possible options. If you click on a place you will see the map zoom into that area, from which you should be able to tell if it is the place you want. If not keep searching as it will be there somewhere.

In the unlikely event that the place you want is not there, you can always report it to us using the link in the search section and we'll put it right pretty quickly.

To assist with your search you may notice that each place has a code, this is the specific country code that the place belongs to. If you need help on which country codes are for which country then you can go to the country code help.

When you have found your place you will notice a callout which identifies whether the place has been declared independent or not. You have a few options at this stage, you can purchase the town and declare independence, become a citizen or register your interest as a citizen.

Homepage Features

The main Homepage for the site is the first page that everyone who visits is directed to. As everyone always sees this page we considerate people at Breakaway Republix thought is might be nice that we had the following features which give you a little tast of the old fame.

Citizen of the Day

For one day you can become ‘’Citizen of the day’’. This is random selection so no favoritism! Being Citizen of the Day gives you top bragging rights and the pride of the place at the right hand side of the homepage.

As you will appreciate it is an honour to be Citizen of the Day so if picked make the most of it by keeping your page interesting! As your user image is seen by all the users why not change it throughout the day so everyone can see.

Republix of the Day

For one day your Republix can become ‘’Republix of the Day’’. This is random selection so again no favoritism. Being the Republix of the Day gives you top bragging rights and the pride of the place at the right hand side of the homepage.

As you will appreciate it is a very special honour to be ‘’Republix of the Day’’ so if selected why not make the most of it by keeping your Republix interesting.

Don’t forget that the more citizens you have the more someone might make an amazing bid for your country. As your user image and flag is seen by all the users why not change it throughout the day so everyone can see?

Featured Citizens

Scrolling along the bottom of the homepage is a randomly selected citizen list, unlike the Citizen of the Day you could appear and disappear throughout the day. It would be worth noting that as your user image shows you off in all your glory make sure you pick a good one!

Featured Republix

Scrolling along the bottom of the homepage is a randomly selected Republix list, unlike the Republix of the Day you could appear and disappear throughout the day. It would be worth noting that as your national flag shows your Republic off in all its glory make sure you pick a good one!

Managing Your Account

My Account

My Account is an important page. Passwords, personal details and of course your monetary transactions through PayPro can be found here.

My Details

Full Name

Put in your username; don’t forget to use a minimum of 6 letters and no spaces.

Date of birth

You need to put in your date of birth, don’t forget your only as old as you feel

Sex

Choose which want you want to be

Password

This must be very secret; if you do lose it we can recover it for you by following the link at the top of the homepage.

E-mail

This must be a valid e-mail; this is so you can receive friendship requests and notifications of bids on your Republix

User Image

Make sure you put in a good one in case you end up as ‘’Citizen of the Day!’’

Republix PayPro Account Balance

Deposit

You can deposit funds into your BR PayPro account via PayPal. If you don't have a PayPal account and don't want to register for one, please use the credit/debit card links on the left of the initial PayPal screen to make a quick and simple deposit into your Republix PayPro account.

You will then effectively have a "stash of cash" which you can use to acquire Republix up to your limit without having to provide credit card details each time.

Withdraw

If you want to withdraw money from Republix PayPro, you will need to register for a PayPal account as we will need a PayPal ID with which to pay money to you. You might want to withdraw money for example if you sell any of your countries or indeed change your mind about the limits you have set yourself.

View Statement

The View Statement facility allows you to track all transactions you have made using the Republix PayPro feature. Republix PayPro is effectively like a current account that you can deposit and withdraw money from and is a great tool for quick and easy acquisition of new and existing republix. The “View Statement” function allows you to keep track of all your transactions through Republix PayPro.

Active Offers

You can see which Republix you have bid for using this facility, if you own any Republix you need to go to your Republix homepage to view the offers that have been received.

Managing your Pages

Personalize Your Citizen page

Editing Features

When you have logged in you will notice that there is a link on the top right of your Citizen "My Page" called "Edit My Profile". There are also a number of red "Edit" icons that appear on editable sections of your page. Use these Edit link to personalise your page, and also to activate some of the features that can be seen on your homepage, such as the message board, making yourself available as a Minister, and to receive messages from the Republix owner.

Edit buttons can only be seen by you when you are logged in. Other users cannot see these editing features at any time.

Message Board

This is where you can talk to other citizen’s. You can leave messages for anyone once you are logged in. Each message posted will contain the text you have written and also your user image. You can paste anything into your message, such as images, funny text etc.

About You

This contains details about yourself which can be edited. Below is a list of attributes that appear on your homepage. The Age and Gender is picked up from the ‘’My Account’’ page.

The above attributes can be edited within the ‘’Other’’ tab on the main edit page. You can also subscribe to receive updates from the President of the Republix you are a citizen of.

Photo Album

Add a many photos as you want to, using the edit button to add photos to the gallery. Please note that at the moment we only support upload of GIF and JPEG images, but as these are the most common image formats you shouldn’t experience any major problems.

Featured Friends

This is where you can add & delete friends and where your requests for friends can be found. To become someone’s friend all you need to do is click on the bottom where it says ‘’Click Here to Request Friendship.’’ An E-mail will be sent to that citizen who can then accept you as a friend.

Personalize Your Republix

Republix Homepage (My Republix)

This where you can see your Republix in all it’s glory, and this is what everyone else can see. When you are logged in you will notice that there are a number of ‘’edit’’ buttons which if pressed will take you directly to the section you want to edit. These edit buttons can only be seen by you when you are logged in.

Message Board

This is where you can talk to your citizen’s. You can leave messages for anyone once you are logged in. Each message posted will contain the text you have written and also your user image. You can paste anything into your message, such as images, funny text etc.

Editing your Republix

Below is list of items that are shown on your Republix homepage, which you can edit based on your whims as President! The Population shown is based on the amount of citizens that belong to your Republix. "Independent Since" is when the Republix was originally purchased and the month and day becomes your Independence Day.

Photo Album

Video Album

You can enter your YouTube user ID in the "Other" tab within the Republix editing section. All videos you have uploaded to your account will then appear on your Breakaway Republix country page! Don't worry if you don't have any videos or your own YouTube user ID. You can add any YouTube user ID (there is one associated with all videos uploaded on YouTube) into the form in your Republix editing section and those videos will feed through your page.

Featured Citizens

This is where you can add & delete friends and where your requests for friends can be found. To become someone’s friend all you need to do is click on the bottom where is says ‘’click here to request friendship.’’ An E-mail will be sent to that citizen who can then accept you as a friend

Ministers

You can add or delete a Minister in the main edit menu. When appointing a Minister be careful, these should be trusted friends as they will play a role in the running of your Republix in the near future. The Minister ’s can be viewed by clicking on the Minister ’s button at the bottom of the page.

Trading your Republix

You will notice a ‘’Bid for Box’’ on your Republix homepage. This is where any registered user can make a bid for your Republix. If someone bids you will be notified via e-mail and you can either accept or reject the offer. Any bids that are received can be found in the "Offers to Buy this Republic" section in "My Republix"

If you accept the bid the funds will be transferred into your Republix PayPro account upon completion of the transaction, less any administrative fees.

If you are bidding on a Republix, a notification e-mail will be sent to the President of that Republix. The President can accept or reject the offer. You will be notified by e-mail if you are successful or not. If you are successful you will need to ensure that you have enough funds in your BR PayPro account to pay for your purchase.
